Nintendo has launched a new service where players from around the world can make a petition for their favorite characters from various video games to appear in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS. It was first announced at the April 1st Nintendo Direct.

Maybe the Squidlings will make the cut?

The system is quite simple, you enter the site and are asked for your gender, then, which character would you like in Smash, the title of the game he or she is from, and finally, why you think this character should make it to the game.

It is unkown if certain characters will be not taken into account, like the Ice Climbers or Ridley, as they've been cut from the game for  different reasons, or characters that currently are Assist Trophies (Like Waluigi and Shadow the Hedgehog) or Pokémon from the Pokeballs (Such as Metacross or Fennekin). We don't know if third-party characters will be taken into account either.
